~if Yan can cook, so can I!~

I had long wanted to try cooking this dish eversince it's become a craze here in Singapore. Frankly speaking, none of them tastes as good as the ones I had tasted in Batam, Tanjung Pinang and Bali. Yup, these are the only 3 Indonesian cities  I've ever been to. Pathetic, I know. But who cares, right? :p

Anyway, the dish I'm referring to is, of course, Nasi Ayam Penyet. Many improvisations have been made, to the dish but the name is still being retained. I really don't know if that's good or bad. And seriously, it's none of my business anyway. hehe.

However, I do find it a BIG business of mine to actually try to cook the dish. The procrastination is really because, when I'm free, many people I love and trust to critic my food, are not. Even the husband. :( But since MANY have said that it's rather easy and the hols are coming to an end (THAT SOON!! bluek!) I dared myself to, why not ey? Oh, and not forgetting, how very often Shikin has been eating at Nasi Ayam Penyet Ria, causing many to drool and I am one those found guilty as charged!

Very certainly, the holidays are the perfect time for me to experiment with many dishes.

So, be a critic. Look at the pictures and tell me if they look appetising to you. Or do they wanna make you puke?

I'm still in the learning process. hehe.

Enjoy the pics, at least, heh.

While I enjoy eating, alone. :(

Oh yeah, the second picture is obviously not Indonesian but it sure tastes good! hehe...did I just praise my own cooking? kekeke

ok, till next entry on my cooking. huh...when eh?

next hols??

hee hee hee

~a date with the bestie and the sis~

lynn-n-i.jpgadik.jpglynnme.jpgus-3.jpg

lynn and i,

we've always had the same taste. we always have the same bag, wallet, purse, glasses, tops, jeans, (with diff sizes and of course, mine always has to be altered...hehe), bracelets, chains, rings, handphones and the list goes on. we went on a binge diet, eating ONLY apples, together, got ill together and started putting on weight together.  we worked part time together, went home together and watched 'Felicity' together, over the phone. how i miss that show. we almost had the same permanent job when we graduated from NYP but she found something better and of course, i chose teaching over the other. lynn and i had shared many dark secrets with each other and till now, mine are safe with her, while hers, are still safe, with me.

i may not be talking to her everday, like i used to. in fact, we have not been calling each other up for a long time. we meet up on occasions and talked for hours over the phone when opportunities arise. marriage life has taken up a lot of our time. but still, lynn and i are thankful that even if it had been months since we contacted, there's still things to talk about. with lynn, i never felt awkward. the husbands get along very well and having mutual friends make it easier for them to talk.

i love lynn like i love my own sister. she was the first person to give me a hug, without saying anything when she heard of my misfortune. she cried with me and she was sorry she could not help.

that's all i need darling. your friendship, your love and of course, your prayers.

adik, has also been a darling. she advised me on many things. hee...wonder who's the big sister here huh? she still makes me feel pretty and loved. she knows when i have problems and she knows i love her company when i shop. there's so much to say about that little sister of mine. my only sister. yet, there's only so much for me to write in here. simply because, my love, my affection for her, my gratitude towards my little sister, is more than just words.

i love u so much, adik. and you know i don't want you to make the same mistakes i did in my life.

ok, so this entry is not supposed to be so sappy. hehe...my apologies.

so, the point is, hehe, i had a very, very good time with these two gorgeous ladies.

i am so blessed with much love. and many sisters to boot!

~4 days 3 nights~

we drove up to KL. Daddy drove us up to KL. heh.

we went shopping. for nothing much to be precise. KL, what seemed to be a shopping paradise seems nothing to me now. except for the fact that there is a SMART tunnel that leads from Bukit Bintang to the highway, we no longer got lost while going back, unlike usually.

anyway, this trip was more spent with the parents and the families we seldom get to meet. we get to tour a four storey house worth RM5.5 million...(yeah..i know...WOW!!!) at Bangsar and another cosy home at Damansara.

the hosts were lovely and so were the food!

hee.

oh...and we bought a Baskin Robbins birthday cake for Marsya! Sinful, i tell ya! till today, i am still craving for more of that ice cream cake!
